Do you need a static IP address for self-signed SSL certificates?

You do need to have a Static IP if you are using your own SSL Certificate. To use an SSL your host will provide you with a CSR file which you need to submit to an SSL Certificate provider. They will then in turn provide you with the CRT that you can install on your required domain.
