What Is Overselling Resourcess, Can I Do It On My Reseller Account?

Overselling In Reseller Hosting

Overselling in reseller hosting basically means to sell beyond the means of delivery. The term is ussually referred to the web space and bandwidth quota allowance. Inexample, an account ofReseller Hosting with a 50 GB Hard Drive space and Unlimitied Bandwidth allowance. The customer starts to sell Hosting Plan with specification 1 GB Space and 100 Bandwidth transfer quota. After selling 50 Plans, the hard drive space allocated for those 50 Clients reaches it limits of 50 GB. However the customer or the company noticed that the actual size of disk space consumed by the customer are about of 20-30 GB from 50 GB of Hard Disk Space Capacity.

At this point, then, the company start to oversell the plan or create more account-over than the 50 GB Hard Disk Space Capacity. If the addition are 10 account of customer, the total estimation of total quota of hard disk space on 60 accounts are 60 GB. In calculation this amount are exceed the quota allowance of the real Hard Disk Space Capacity. However the actual size may not be the same as the estimate calculation, depend on the actual size of the total usage of Hard Disk Space consume by all Client.

The only problem would be if all or most of their customers would all of a sudden consume all the space that they were allocated. The server would not have the space (solution: Upgrade to higher package of Reseller Hosting Product) and the company would have to pay at a higher-than-usual rate for the reseller hosting package their currently used.

Is It Possible To Do Overselling In HostMop?

I'm sorry,We do not allow overselling in our reseller hosting services.

Almost all reseller's offering overselling start out the same. Clients have great uptime, servers are fast etc. As more time goes by the server becomes more and more filled from resellers using what they purchased and downtime gradually gets worse. People who purchase reseller plans with overselling enabled are going to use all of their disk space and bandwidth given enough time. The host has no control over future growth.

If you want to do overselling you need a dedicated server, but remember you can only fill the server with so many sites before the cpu and ram become overloaded.
